Once again, I discover that eternal truth. Writing documentation is boring. In fact, it's very boring. But, I've been putting it off for ages, and I really should do it. There's actually no technical documentation at all for parts of my system because people keep asking me to add more bits without giving me time to write up the older ones and this is bad and naughty. So I've convinced my boss that it's important that I take a week and write it all up and make sure all the code is neatly commented which is good. But boring. So I take a break to tell you about my lovely weekend.

There's quite a lot of it... )

Well, the OUSFG banquet is finally over. And a very good night it was. I wore my new monsoon dress with stole and beaded bag and looked very swank. Jeremy had one of their Chinese suits on which looked fab so it was all very stylish. The food was lovely and then we all came back here for the post-banquet party. My next door neighbour wasn't thrilled but it was Saturday night and it's not like I do this often so I figured what the heck :)

Turns out that one of my friends actually came to see this house when he was house hunting in May but we don't think that they sold it. This made me wonder about whether I could buy this place. It's really tempting because I'm very settled here already and I've got loads of ideas for the place - I get quite into home improvement and gardening and stuff. The only thing is that I don't know whether I'd (or we'd?) quite be able to afford it. I'll have to do a bit of investigation - keep your fingers crossed for me :)

Oh, and we role-played before the banquet and I did some kick-ass shooting at the kobolds and then we killed the orc cleric who'd been poisoning the towns water supply :) Go us! I think Ruth will go up a level now, but I won't for ages - one of the disadvantages of being a drow. Still, we did pretty well.

Well! Last night, the traffic out of work was utterly appalling and so I didn't get home til 10 to 8. I don't know what the problem is with the traffic at the minute - it's been terrible all week. I hope that now the train strikes are off next week it won't be so bad. Anyway, I finally got home and Alex, Ian and Ruth came round. We role-played for a while (another fight with kobolds and a great big weasel - I shot 2 but the weasel had attached itself to Ruth in the meantime :( - and then attacked by rats) and then my parents arrived for their visit. Tea and then bed and hugs :)

Then today, we lounged around in the morning and then made the trip to B&Q where I bought paint to cover the institutional yellow on my walls with much more tasteful lilac. Then, in the way of these things, Mum and I got rather enthused about the whole thing and decided to get started with the painting. We've done the whole first coat and about 2/3 of the second and it looks really nice which is a relief. It actually goes much better with the carpet than the yellow did and I'm really pleased with it but now I'm zonked :)

Off to the Ashmolean tomorrow and then the Petit Blanc (Raymond Blanc's Oxford brassiere) for birthday dinner :)

Nice weekend, I have to say :) Hmmm. Looking at the LJ cut tag below it occurs to me that I should be able to do these journal entries by scanning in Chez Geek cards and just slapping the appropriate ones up!
