Nice weekend, I have to say :) Hmmm. Looking at the LJ cut tag below it occurs to me that I should be able to do these journal entries by scanning in Chez Geek cards and just slapping the appropriate ones up!
First up, fondue at
cleanskies. I've never had fondue before so that was a totally new experience and a pretty enjoyable one I have to say - one cheese, followed by one chocolate. Fine fun. Followed by a brief period of crashing out then Chez Geek (card game of your life) and then finally, home with Alex for hugs (Mmmm, hugs).
Saturday: Struggle out of bed in order to have shower and go to Tescos by 2pm. Manage this (shock!) - buy one million things in Tescos but forget loo roll. Bugger. Ian and Ruth come round to give me my first ever taste of RPGs. Do some scanning of the rule book and start to put my character together. Decide to be a Drow (dark elf) rogue but a nice one. I want to multi to wizard eventually as well which will be really good. Alex is a weird planestouched cleric and Ruth is a half-drow ranger (she’s my half sister :) ). It takes us absolutely ages to decide what to buy and what skills to have and stuff (I'm very bright so I have loads of skills - hooray). I cook dinner (chicken and broccoli cheese with mash and salad) which goes down very well. Cooking is so satisfying. We finally start playing and get into a fight with some kobolds which we manage to play just as if we were complete amateurs :) They get some lucky damage rolls and we get some really really poor ones. Still, we beat them - I killed one! - and decide that since it's now 2am we'll just let Alex heal us and call it a night. Still, I'm looking forward to some more.
Sunday: Struggle out of bed once more in order to get to the Phoenix by 12. Manage this (double shock!!) and watch Kiki's Delivery Service. It's really sweet, somewhat more explicable than Porco Rossi and all in all a lovely way to spend a morning/early afternoon. I snuggle up to Alex and am accused of being soppy (soppy, moi!). Radcliffe Arms is v full so we go to the Hardcourt Arms for 1/2 an hour and play speed scrabble. Back to the Radcliffe for chocolate fudge cake (mmmm) and other food. Decide am going to have to do something about the state of my house and so go home. Tidy up bedroom, downstairs, do 2/3 of the washing up (no more room on draining board). Have wobbly fit as if have not eaten or v tired. Decide must be the latter. Sit down and watch TV. Hoover downstairs. Have bath (mmmm). Bed and sleep.
So here we are again. Another busy week in prospect - the woman from the CPL is coming round tomorrow (yay) and I'm going to the ballet tonight. Then hopefully, LotR on Wednesday, Buffy on Thursday, RPGs on Friday and parents on Saturday. The trouble with weeks like this is that they play merry hell with my diet :(
