Really, now that I've got the [livejournal.com profile] pocketlj client I should write these bit by bit, closer to the time. I still baulk at writing long stretches of graffiti though - I may too many "typos" (I suddenly wonder where that comes from. What would be the equivalent for graffiti?) and it just gets a little awkward after a while. I guess I'm also usually doing it in a situation where I have nowhere to rest my arms/wrists - writing on a notepad when you've only got your other hand to support it becomes tiring after a while too. Anyway...

Friday: Got out of office at last and headed off to meet Becks at Cutty Sark. As always, journey takes slightly longer than I'm expecting and I am only just in time. Have nice chat while wandering to theatre. Becks has been v. busy - recent promotion at work (unfortunately, the kind where they give you more responsibility but not yet more money or a new title or anything like that) meaning that she's doing a lot of new stuff. She seems quite perky though and we have a nice chat. Meet [livejournal.com profile] smithi1. V unnerving - he looks younger than I expected and is an actual person and stuff! Jeremy Hardy comes on. He's great, although not quite as good as the seminal gig in Norwich which was an utter blinder. He seems to have become more bitter - the accession of a Labour govt which is worse than the Tories seems to have hit him hard :) Still, there's some great stuff - I particularly like the stuff about liberals on marches - PLEASE STOP THE INSANITY IF AT ALL POSSIBLE - and there's some good stuff on capitalism as well. I am a little concerned about Becks - she is, after all, a self confessed capitalist whore - but she seems to find it all as funny as I do. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons I like her. I make it home and call Alex who comes round and hugs me all night :)

Saturday: Lie in. Mmmmm. Listen to rain on the windows. I must write to my landlord and ask him to do something about the chimneys - the rain comes down the one in my room and drips annoyingly and the living room fireplace blows a gale if not fully covered. Drag selves up. Alex goes to have what turns out to be an extremely long bath. I potter around the house and manage to do all the tidying bar the washing up and the hoovering - score! I check my credit card bill and am pleased to see that I have again managed to write it all down and so do not have horrible shock when looking at the total. Discover that I am the best friend of the Phoenix Picture House*. Organise going to party. Go to Indian takeout. Wait 1/2 hour for food (Aziz - v posh looking, shit service, food OK but not good enough to make up). Get to [livejournal.com profile] cleanskies. Bolt food. Get in car. Go to Mark Charlesly's (sp?) party. Drink wine, chat, watch baby Nathaniel make cute faces, eat special cake, chat more. Become confused and tired. Slump on Alex. Feel a bit better. Grab chair and chat more. Watch a bit of Munchkin (it's like a Cheapass Game but more expensive!). Go to bed on floor with Alex.

Sunday: Discover that sleeping on the floor is a bad idea. Have lost all movement in my neck :( Cups of tea and massage from Alex. Neck tension significantly reduced - he is lovely :) Still feeling tired and slow though. Go for lunch in pub. Order apple crumble for pudding - arrives in enormous bowl. Cannot finish. Go home in Adrian’s car. Bath :) Watch TV but nothing good on (boo!) Early night.

* When I went to see Porco Rossi last weekend I bought Friendship of the Phoenix. This gave me 3 free tickets, one of which I used for the film, a membership card for future tickets and a wine voucher for the bar. However, when they processed my address and stuff for sending me programs they seem to automatically have sent me another collection of the same! So now I have 5 free tickets! They sure do like me lots :)

Wow - sucks to be you dude! I've had no problems at all with PocketLJ - it's got quite a nice interface (pretty much like the web one only on your palm really) and does all the stuff I want. It's not quite so full o features as the [livejournal.com profile] ljwin32_sema windoze client is but I think the guy who develops it is planning to add some of that stuff soon. Now that I haven't got a PC at home I've been thinking vaguely about getting a keyboard so that I can type longer stuff on it but I might give the Text thing a try - it sounds like one of those things which will turn out to either be a godsend or annoy me after about a week but theres no way of telling which beforehand :) Does it learn from experience?

Doesn't either suck to be me! Just this is a bit of a nuisance is all.

The Text thing is pretty useful -- I like it -- and annoying at the same time, sometimes. It can be made to learn but you have to add vocab to it (doesn't learn by itself). It's very good on American states and cities, not surprisingly... Give it a go, at any rate.

My other nifty things that I like muchly for Palm are PocketMoney (track bank accounts, in multiple currencies -- costs $30 but worth it to me) and CrypBox (keep all your passwords/credit card nos/etc safe and encrypted on your handy dandy palm!).

Yeah - I've got an accounts app too, called Accounts and Loans (http://persweb.direct.ca/jleung/AL_Doc/index.html) which I keep all mine on which is pretty good. I like the idea of the password thing - I have so many accounts at various different places round the net that I have to resort to trying to keep the number of possible passwords to a minimum so that I don't forget them! So I guess it doesn't suck to be you after all - cool!
