We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Educate the public on the appropriate use of the 999 "emergency" service.

Aren't they already doing so with such thinks as NHS Direct and so on?

NHS direct is supposed to be there as an alternative but people don't actually use it enough or properly. The volume of rubbish calls to 999 suggests that they're not doing enough or doing it very effectivly at the moment!
