1. London: The Biography (but not one for the bus I'm afraid...) Read any Christopher Brookmyre? It's dark and it's funny. "Tartan Noir" 2. Wings of Desire, directed by Wim Wenders. http://us.imdb.com/Title?0093191 3. I suspect our tastes are worlds apart so I'll spare you... ;) Actually, I've just thought of something Heather Nova: Oyster. 4. http://chapters.hollowstreets.net/ Collaborative fiction. 5. http://www.notsosoft.com/blog/
A book -- Unquenchable Fire by Rachel Pollack (or if you've read it already, then Finder by Carla Speed McNeil -- Damian has copies). A film -- well, obviously we've all seen LoTR. How about Ghost World if you've not already seen it? Sorry for the obviously comic-themed nature of these suggestions! A band/album -- oohh, so many. I'm really enjoying Manu Chao's Ultima Estacion Esperanza at the moment, but your mileage may vary -- try Gorky's Zygotic Mynci instead perhaps? A website -- I'm spending far too much time looking at weird fanfiction on http://www.fanfiction.net. An LJ or other online journal (yes, I know these are also websites) -- you already know all the ones I'd recommend!

A Book: Choosing arbitrarily from those on my bed right now: Stephen Spender, The Temple. Spender is better known as a poet; this novel is thinly disguised autobiographical journey theough Weimar Germany.
A Film: Disney’s Atlantis (2001) (http://us.imdb.com/Details?0230011). Lots of 1914-esque science-romance technology and flying blue fish vehicles... I think this is still doing matinées at George St.
Ask Alex about bands and albums
A web site: Most of the sites I visit are either work-related or I found out about them via one of our frients. How about Joe Phillips (http://joephillips.com/) He used to draw comics for DC (like Superboy) but now specializes in drawing variously-undressed young men for people who like that sort of thing.
A journal: Joel on Software (http://joelonsoftware.com/). Discussions of how to write software from someone who often seems to know what he’s talking about

A band/album - Mezzanine by Massive Attack. I've never particularly liked this genre of music, but I love this album.
