I think when they ask me my weakness at interviews one of them is going to have to be a low tolerance to background noise. When there's just the general chat of the office going on I can put my headphones on and that’s more or less OK but I find it really hard to do anything complex without them on - my train of thought gets disrupted. I assume the reason this doesn't happen when I've got them on is because I know what to expect - I can't really work with the radio on for example but CDs work fine.

i was the same way when i was at school. the teachers didn't like me having a walkman, but in the small classes in years 11 and 12 if i didn't have music on the other people would distract me and i wouldn't get any work done.
