Checking up to see whether tinyjo.net is available (it is), the search also notes that bantamjo.net, midgetjo.net, petitejo.net, and diminutivejo.net are also available :) I quite like the idea of the last one :)

As you may have guessed, I'm toying with the idea of getting my own domain - any ideas for the name?

I was once warned it's not a good idea to publically say 'this domain name is available and I want it' in case someone else beats you to it...

tinyjo.net is easiest to remember - diminuitivejo will be a bugger to keep typing in...

I guess I just assumed that since it's pretty obvious that I haven't got enough money/interest to buy it from cybersquatters the only people who'd bother are malicious ones. Still, it's a good point - I sometimes forget that there are nasty people on the internet too.

The only thing about tinyjo.net which bugs me is what I'd set the emails up to be - somehow, jo@tinyjo.net doesn't quite ring right to me. I suppose I could do me@tinyjo.net or something... I don't fancy any of the others really, although I think petitejo is kind of cute, but I also haven't any other ideas currently.

Which search engine are you using to check ownership? No point in suggesting ones that are owned, even if they're not used.

I was using Verisign (it's top of the list when you type "domain name registration" into Google)

I quite like minou.net but I think you're right about the spelling thing.

I like minou.net too, but it's taken (see www.register.com)there are a few minou.somethings available though.

Or smartminou.com?

tiny.net is also gone, but there are some cool variations - tiniest.com?
