Why is is that whenever I do a load of washing, one sock seems to slip down the side and escape? It seems practically inevitable that when I lift up the basket, having set the machine going, there it is. Curses.

I am about to subject myself to the vagiaries of the rail network again, ho hum. With a high chance of a rail replacement bus. Ah well, at least I won't have to find somewhere to park.
