Now that we've got the magical PVR machine working, I'm starting to think "right, so what should I record?". For film, I've got my trusty Mark Kermode podcast to listen to but for TV, I don't know. So can anyone recommend to me a good review site for UK freeview TV? Or blog or whatever but you know what I mean...

Ah, you made the mistake of buying one without the 'better programmes' option :-)

Yeah, when are they bringing that out, I ask myself :)

Alison Graham in the Radio Times is a godsend, because she shares my tastes so closely, and in fact tends to have crushes on the same men (eg the lovely Julian Rhind Tutt). She's not on their website though. I find there's no substitute for a copy of the RT every Tuesday and a highlighter pen (but then I could be said to be slightly obsessive). It has to be the RT because it has enough space to give enough details for you to spot the good stuff, and also because its demographic is sufficiently close to mine that they highlight fairly relevant stuff.

Just out of interest, which PVR machine did you go for in the end?

I've got a Humax 9200T...
