Date: February 28th, 2006 10:51 pm (UTC)From:I had an E reg one that was fantastic and did about 10,000 miles after I drove it on a 400 mile motorway trip with no oil in the gearbox (long story)! It was fairly reliable cheap transport and my first car. I got rid when the gearbox finally gave up the good fight.
And after several other cars I now have a P reg that used to belong to my dad. It's been great for him, and great for me too. The only minor niggle was it not starting properly on a couple of occaisions, but that was simply because the fuse for the injectors got a bit grubby. Aside from that it has been 100% reliable, and it's cheap to run as well. This year's insurance is £228 and it does about 40mpg. It is kinda slow, it sounds weedy and it doesn't go around corners as well as my old X1/9 (but then it does have 4 seats and a floor that is not pop rivetted together, together with the aforementioned aversion to garages), but they are minor complaints. It's almost the perfect AtoB car.
Enjoy...

Date: March 6th, 2006 01:14 pm (UTC)From:Ah-hem. Nope, it's the 3 door silver one. I decided that 5 door was not worth paying the extra 2 grand for. If it had been 500, maybe.
It's actually only a 1.0 as well but it's way zippier than the 1.0 Yaris I tried - I guess it's lighter. Picking it up today - woo!
