So, starting Wednesday, for some reason, Outlook decided that I should really be using the auto preview feature*. No really. It would turn it on and I would turn it off and about an hour later I would discover that it had turned it on again. So yesterday afternoon, I decided that I had had enough and downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird to try. And, guess what. It's the mail client of my dreams. Finally, a mail client that treats my separate accounts as fully separate! It's got a couple of glitches in it right now (clicking on URLS doesn't seem to work unless there's already a browser open) but nothing that would make me even consider going back to Outlook after this.

* This is the thing where it includes the first couple of lines of the message in blue under the subject in your inbox. I hate it with a passion.

I would definitely recommend Firefox, which I use and love lots. It's better than IE for many reason, but the thing I love most is tabbed browsing. It's difficult to explain why it's so much better until you try it, but it really is.

As far as foot-prints go, Firefox currently takes up 14.2 MB on my hard-disk and Thunderbird takes up 20.3 MB (and contains a bunch of my mail archives).

I installed them both on Friday, and they seem to be pretty good. I like it that you can import your mail directly from Outlook Express into Thunderbird. ^__^
