Being without my normal handbag this week (I'm taking my laptop so I can revise on the bus on the way home) has made me realise that although it seems like I carry around a ridiculous amount of stuff, it's all stuff I need. I have nearly run out of batteries for my Visor. I carry a complete set of spares in my handbag, but now I don't have any so I have to either buy some at lunchtime or wait til I get home to replace them. I snapped off part of a nail yesterday, but didn't have my scissors or nail file to tidy it up so kept catching the jagged edge on things. David pulled off a button from his cuff and I don't have my sewing kit here to lend him. I have sometimes wondered about all the space this stuff takes up, but it's obvious from this that it is earning it's keep. Which reminds me. I must replace the thread in my sewing kit.

For some reason I'm feeling utterly exhausted this morning. This is odd because I left the pub early and everything so that I would get plenty of sleep. Something disturbed me about 1/2 an hour before my alarm went off - maybe that fucked up my sleep cycles or something. It sounded like something coming down the chimney (which would be odd as it's got a cushion in it to stop the rain coming down) but I didn't have the energy to look when I got up.

Things like this - The Electronic Small World Project - are always fascinating to me somehow. A bit like the Live Journal connect thing (I can't be bothered to go and look up the link for this - check [livejournal.com profile] lj_nifty) - I spent ages connecting myself to random users. I was always fascinated as a child by the idea that if you traced our family trees back far enough then I would be related to the Queen somehow. I think it was this which was the starting point of my objection to the concept of royalty - their family wasn't any more special than any other because they are all linked somewhere.

I have decided that I'm happy for people to actually find my website when they search for my name - even the stuff in here is pretty innocuous and is unlikely to make potential employers think "God, no!" (unlike Alex's journal :) ). This means that I should include meta-tags. Which means that I have to think of ways to describe my website. Which is a bit tricky somehow. It hasn't really got much on it apart from this journal and the photos (I suppose there is the writing section, but in true ironic fashion I haven't got round to finishing my essay on political apathy). How would you describe it?

Given this post and the amount of stuff about the re-design I've written the two descriptions which come to my mind are over analytical and self absorbed.

Also, I've noticed that quite a lot of sites (and as I say this I realise that I can't think of any examples off hand) have lists of their most recent google search referrals, or just their most recent referrals. How do you get those?
