I've written some really interesting entries lately. While I've been on my bike, or skating, or washing up or cooking or in fact in almost any situation apart from actually sitting in front of a computer with a keyboard and an internet connection. It's so frustrating, like a longer term manifestation of the problem where I think of something really intelligent to say while someone else is talking but by the time they've finished I can't for the life of me remember what it was. It drives me, my boyfriend, and now all of you guys nuts.
So, to substitute for those witty and erudite entries I'm going to tell you about my latest desire. Yes, now that I've bought everything on my last list, I have to start a new list :) So now I've decided is that what I'd really like is to have broadband. But to take proper advantage of that on my laptop what I really want is a house network. A nice shiny new server (possibly running Linux as a learning experience) connected to the broadband modem and connected to my laptop (and possibly visitors as well if they smile nicely at me) via a wireless networking link. Although I'll have to secure it carefully otherwise the thin walls of these houses will mean my neighbours can use it as well! I'm not likely to be able to acquire this kit in the near future, but watch this space...
