So, on leaving work on Friday I got to the bike rack to discover my bike helmet sitting forlornly on the pavement and my bike nowhere to be seen. I've had it almost exactly a year (from new) which I suppose is not too bad for a bike in Oxford but still, I was more than a little annoyed. Still, moves are in train to replace the damn thing so I won't be bereft for too long I hope. Perhaps I should keep an eye out on the second hand market :)

Oh no. How irritating. I assume it was insured?

Yup - you'd be mad not to living here. I should hear back today from them about getting a replacement - I'm hoping I'll be able to just pick one up from the bike shop on the way home :)

Dear Tinyjo

Get one like mine! It has not been stolen. The thing is that I left it once 2 weeks on Cowley, 2 weeks in front of Borders and 2 weeks in front of my building in total this year and noone managed to do anything (they tried!).

Yowch. Good job you're insured. My flatmate was too tight to get insurance, and ended up having to replace her stolen bike with a bright pink one - not quite the thing when you're a goth.

Could be worse. Suzanna Raymond had her motorbike nicked from right outside her house.
