Of course, what with all this excitement and stuff, I've forgotten to write about my weekend! Foolish minou. So, here we go...

Friday After a slightly shaky start (security alert at Bank) I got home at a reasonable hour to dash straight out again and over to Alistair’s for wine (lots and lots of) and pizza (very nice indeed) and chat (always fun). We fixed it that title=">> truecatachresis">Ian and Ruth would come over at 11:30 the next day (what were we thinking!) for role-playing and I played with my camera a bit until it ran out of batteries. Alex took me home rather drunken and we went to bed and hugged. Mmmm.

Saturday Woke up feeling more sprightly that I had any right to if with a bit of a delicate stomach. Managed to even get some housework done before Ian and Ruth arrived. Then we sat down to plan an assault on the base of a group of evil clerics. Always fun. It ended up with us sneaking in and killing quite a lot of them one by one in their beds absolutely silently so that none of the others woke up (it was a fortress of about 25 people so just wading in wasn't really an option :) ). A bit dubious perhaps but they were all soldiers of one form or another - we just left the cooks sleeping - so I wasn't too worried. Ian was a bit shocked though. We didn't have time to quite wrap it up and unfortunately the rest of the guards (about 10) are all awake now but still, with the help of the prisoners we released we should be OK.

After that, I dashed off to the station to catch a train to Windsor to watch my friend Rach play in her first concert with the Windsor and Maidenhead orchestra. They started off with Straus (Death and Transfiguration) which I wasn't all that enthralled by but then followed with Prokoviev's (sp?) piano concerto no 1. which was fantastic and then Elgar's 1st symphony which was beautiful. The piano concerto was one of those pieces where you think "That can't be one person playing the piano part can it?" - it was so complex. Lovely. Then time for a quick hug/chat with Rach before hopping on the train home.

Sunday Managed to get up relatively early again and went downstairs to drink tea and watch Alan Titchmarsh. That got me all motivated except that he says there's no hope for my lawn - I just have to nuke it and start again. Still, in the absence of gardening tools I did get some housework and shopping done and then went to the Turf to see Jeremy, Damian and Andy who was down for a visit. Much lazing around and a little drinking later we decided to wander back to Jeremy’s for Save Doctor Lucky in Spaaace (or something like that) and then Chez Geek. We love Chez Geek :)

So, as you can see, not a lot of revision in there. But it is getting done, I promise. I'm really looking forward to this time off - a bit of peace and quiet (maybe).

Fourteen more guards, actually. You've also forgotten the werewolf, two fiendish wolves, the rogue who's been hiding among the cooks, the wizard and his familiar who've been freed by the rogue and the imp who's recovered from his "death". But, of course, you won't have had time to read this before you had to fight them.

Yeah - thanks Ian! Still, we did beat them :)
