One week recently, we had a driver who told us to remain seated until the bus had fully come to a stop. He followed this up with an explaination of why, including an estimation of the force and speed at which we would be thrown forward if he had to brake in a hurry. This little monologue occupied the tannoy from Hillingdon to Green Road, with a brief reprise at Gypsy Lane, and another (more detailed) repeat from the lights at the bottom of Headinton Hill and along St Clements (where I got off). I can only assume they've been having some accidents :)
