I suddenly realise that I've been so busy doing online tests and spending loads of money in my imagination that I haven't actually written about yesterday evening. How remiss of me! So, here you are.
Go home early (early finish at the Ghost Town) and meet up with Alex and his parents so that we can have a birthday dinner at Pizza Express - very nice. They have bought me a bottle of wine for my birthday and seem concerned that it isn't something more - very sweet. We part and Alex and I head for the St Johns Auditorium to watch Thunderstorm - billed as the Chinese answer to Shakespeare performed by the Chinese drama society.
It's actually pretty good. I can see why they compare it to Shakespeare because some of the plot is a little far fetched and there's the whole tangled web of relationships previously unknown (like where twins dress up as the opposite sex and stuff in one of the plays and it's all very confusing and requires one of those unmasking scenes). There was a lot of hysteria and it actually also reminded us of Greek Tragedy - it's very Oedipus in places. That being said, I found it interesting and enjoyable and there were some excellent performances.
After which, we went to the pub where Alex and Mike planned their set for today and Jeremy was ill :(
