A bunch of us doing styles support added it as an interest as a kind of solidarity of people who don't think that the internet means you don't have to spell properly (and I know I don't always manage, but at least I try :)
Hey, the fact that you even bother to try puts you way, way ahead of the game. ;) Making the occasional typo or misspelling is a far cry from just typing out everything that comes to mind without spellchecking it. ;) I can't tell you how painful it is for me to try to read short messages/posts (I'm talking about one-sentence or one-paragraph-long things) from someone who can't be assed to give it the once-over. =P Although, "backround" and some other unintentional misspellings make me smirk if they can be read in a... certain way. ;)
And, er, yes, go ahead and ask away if you wish. =)
