Nick Clarke died. I can't believe it - I thought he was getting better. I'm surprised by how strong my reaction is.

And he always sounded essentially rather on the young side for someone with such gravitas and humour: an unusually wise 36-year-old, not someone 22 years older. How dreadful for his kids and his current and his former wife, too.
