That's kinda wierd. Maybe it's just too new? Have you tried the breezy badger live CD? It works fine on my crappy Dell laptop (though it runs out of memory and crashes applications if you try to do too much). On the other hand, maybe it works fine on that becuase the graphics card is rubbish? Glad it all installed nice and easy.
