AIUI, their Lordships' decision is more complicated than 'people in the public eye are entitled to a private life' - it seemed to hinge on whether the specific details of her treatment eg. her leaving that particular clinic constituted information which 'bears the badge of confidentiality' ie. information about someone so sensitive that it shouldn't be published, since it seemed to be accepted that the Mirror was entitled to publish that she was a drug addict receiving treatment.
I don't know much more about it than that, but I don't think it's as disasterous as it appears for freedom of expression.
