I'm watching Season II now (thanks, Niall) and I thought that there was one line in the 2nd episode (I think) which really summed up the series. It's a flashback to the campaign to become president. Jeb's not sure about it but Leo is and he says "You know that they say that a good man can't become president. I don't think that's true." And that's what the show is in a nutshell. It's the fantasy where Leo is right and a good man and a bunch of idealists can make it to the White House. It's sweet, and I'm still loving it.

I may have said this before...

I have an 'on again/off again' relationship with West Wing ... it is good entertainment certain-sure, but I get into trouble when the ineviable comparisions with the real administration beg askance.

It's quite interesting in Season 5 now where they're in the twilight of the presidential term and they're having to cope with disillusionment that power is slipping away and they can't really get anything done any more. The sweet moments are becoming further and further apart.

I'm watching Season II now

The main reason I gave the box to you is so you wouldn't go mad over the cliffhanger. :)

Also, my favourite episode is in S2...

Started watching "Yes, Minister"

I loved it! Maybe it should be part of every politician's curriculum?
