Leave it at home [end voice] unless you will need it for emergencies (stranded somewhere and need a hotel room to stay in overnight; dodgy venue and you'll need a taxi or a ticket for travel somewhere, general common-sense self-preservation). My card pays only for petrol, hotels, and specific anniversary dinners and that ilk of occasion. It lives at home mostly. That helps. A Bit.
