Well, hopefully, things will now be a little calmer. I'll have time to think, and write, about my life again. The BIG DEMO is over - not the one in Hyde Park, the one to all our clients of the software we're making for them. And it worked (pretty much)! The whole thing went off much better than I expected in the end.
I had taken Alex's advice and booked Friday off (the demo being Weds, Thurs). He'd managed to get it off as well, so we were all set for a lovely lazy Valentines. Which was just what we did. Buffy/Angel on Thursday night, lie in until abuot 12:30 on Friday with hugs all the way. There's nothing like a hug to make you feel better. I popped out to get steaks and Ian and Ruth came over for wine, steak, port and settlers. It seems like forever since I played that and I think I was much better when I was doing it under the influence of tea! Still, a good time was had by all.
Saturday was more lying in bed hugging. Its such a nice way to spend a morning! Alex went off home to look after his housemate in the afternoon and I was joined in the evening by Jeremy and Damian for wine, crisps and cheapass games which was rather fun as it meant that I didn't have to go out into the cold to go over to theirs :) Alex came back again and (you guessed it) more hugging was had.
We dragged ourselves out of bed at Sunday lunchtime to wander over to Ian and Ruths new flat (which looks a lot smaller now it's full of stuff) and do some roleplaying. We killed a load of golems and a huge hydra and some mindflayers and we got to level up which is always fun :) I can teleport now, which is the first thing I've been able to do that I really really want to do in real life (although protection from cold would be quite nice).
Finally, for the first time this month, I feel actually rested after the weekend. My head has cleared, I've got my breath back, I'm ready for the next bit. Which I have to face in my glasses, but that's a story for another post...
