Over the weekend, I came up with a new plan for weight loss. I'm going to carry on having the slimfast meals for lunches, cos they're nice and I'm going to still be sensible most of the time at home, but I am fed up with having to be sensible all the time when I go out as well. So, in lieu of not having food I want, I'm going to start to do exercise which I'd rather not do instead. As well as exercise I like obviously.
My first thought was that I'd go jogging in my lunch hour, or perhaps cycling and I may still do a bit of cycling - I haven't decided yet. Then I remembered that up the dreadful hill on Cowley road is a swimming pool. Ah-ha I thought. If I get up a little earlier and go to work (and leave) a little later I could go swimming in the morning. So, this morning I struggled up the Cowley Road on the bike in my glasses (which steam up something rotten as soon as you stop - I'd forgotten about that!) only to discover that a) they don't open til 9 in school holidays and b) normally they open from 6.10 til 8.30. Definitely not, I decided. But I did take a leaflet anyway, which had details of membership cards and also mentioned the ice rink. Ah-ha again! I suddenly have remembered that ice skating has been quite fun the couple of times I've tried it. And it's close to work and not up an enormous hill which is good (although slightly less exercise). This time, I'll ring up and find out what the opening times are before I go, but, barring accidents tomorrow morning I'm going ice skating again! All who wish to point and laugh are welcome to join me :)
So I didn't actually get to swim this morning, but I did have to cycle up that bloody hill so that'll do for today.
