Up and down

A rather mixed weekend this one. I spent most of it still feeling rather poo and coughing all over Alex (with the result that he seems to have contracted the blasted thing now :( ) and generally feeling washed out. Saturday evening however, I managed to get myself going enough to make it to the OUSFG Christmas party. Alex and I had been planning to go as Jesus and an angel, but 10 mins before we left he decided to go a devil so that we could be the good and bad sides of OUSFG. He went home and dressed in black with his black fairy wings, I was all in white with a tinsel halo. We even managed to get his hair to stand up in 2 horns with the help of elastic bands and copious amounts of hair gel (disgusting amounts in fact). I don't have any photos but Tim does so hopefully they'll be netified soon. We wandered round the party with him saying "Drink punch, it makes you cool" and me saying "No, no, orange juice is fine"! In fact we hardly had to make any effort to act in character at all :) We actually won first prize, much to my surprise as there were some very good costumes there. When we got home it was 12:30 and Rach and her coursemates were sitting round chatting and watching MTV2. It was the 1st of December so I decided to put the Christmas tree up there and then! As soon as I've recharged my batteries on my camera, photos of that will follow too.

I want to put my tree up but I don't think I'll have room for it till I've done the decorating and everything is back in its place (which it is now, but it won't be when I start again).

At the rate I'm going I'll be putting it up just in time to take it down again!

But it's not Christmas yet! You can't put up Christmas decorations until the right time.

I don't know how far along Christmas commerce is over there ...

Alex's horns were really cool -- it took me a while to realise it was really his hair! And it was nice to have someone promoting non-alcoholic drinks. And the other, slightly-more-with-it judge also thought you made a really good pair. I hope the wooden left hand found something to be useful for ;-)
