It's like this matey boy. I'm a friendly person. I know what it's like to feel outside of things and so I make an effort to be inclusive and generally nice to new people, encourage them to be part of the conversation. But that's all it is. Friendliness. Just because I smiled at you DOES NOT MEAN I FANCY YOU. Also when I move my leg away every time you move yours to touch it you should take that as a hint. And when I reach across the table to hold hands with my boyfriend you should *definitely* take that as a hint.

Oh and practical jokes where you sign people up for loads of spam aren't funny.

Oh dear. Someone clearly has really thick skin. Next time wear stiletto heels and stab them in the shin or pin their foot to the floor. (Course some of the blokes I know would take that as a green light but usually it works...)

And ouch. I think someone's done that to me actually, I'm receiving inordinate amounts of spam all of a sudden. Time to change my email account I think, since it's not the @zoomusicgirl.com that's getting it but the underlying address.

He seemed pretty straight so maybe the stillettos would have worked. Tricky on the bike though :) Fortunatly it's not me having the spam problem - the guy tried to impress me by telling me about the hilarious practical joke he'd played on a mate which met with stony silence all round :)

I can testify to your friendliness, at least...I appreciate your assistance with my service request, you fixed my problem right up.

Thanks...and if you're still deluged with spam because of someone's dirty trick, McAfee makes a commercial utility called SpamKiller (http://mcafee.com/myapps/msk/) that is working miracles for me right now. I think it's $29.95, but worth every penny.

Thanks! You've bought a smile to my face - not easily done in the early morning. Fortunatly, it's not me who's deluged with the spam - the guy who was bothering me tried to impress me by crowing that he'd done it to one of his mates. Not a line likely to impress me :)

So, is this anyone I know?

I don't think so. He turned up on Sunday afternoon at Caption briefly and chatted to Ruth and I (who were on the door) but then had to leave to get a train. We told him it was a comics convention (which I think he misunderstood as being for comedians) and he asked about local stuff so we told him about CBS. All seemed fine - he seemed OK. Then he turned up at the pub on Tuesday which is where the above happened. With any luck he'll take the hint and not come again.
