Like you, I wouldn't say no to returning to East Anglia (although I think I have less of an attachment to Oxford than you), but I don't see that on the horizon any time soon. Maybe the southwest sometime, or back *home* to Derbyshire?
Ecletic tastes in music are good! :) ...and you've got yourself a very nice little house there. I didn't know where you lived (except somewhere off Cowley Road/St Clements somewhere - but I've always noticed that little lane and thought it to be a nice little row of houses. I'm only sorry, it was dark and so unable to see the garden...
And it's interesting hearing you talk about the community (for a community not a weblog it is) that is LiveJournal. Like you say, for myself, I put anything I'm not comfortable with making public behind protected posts (though I've never made anything private to date), and I've found the whole experience of LiveJournal over the past year completely rewarding. For me, one of the biggest bonuses has been to meet so many other writers, who will read and review my work - as a writer, I'm no longer in a vacumn, but can measure myself and my words against others - and improve...
