This and that
March 27th, 2003 04:59 pmToday, I had a trip to Greenwich for more SPOCC training. This time, I am accompanied by Colin and am mostly there to watch and field any technical questions which he has trouble with. Unfortunately, there are not really enough of these to make it interesting, so, without the internet to distract me, I'm forced to start up my computer and write instead. This is the part of my job that I enjoy the least I think (with the possible exception of demo presentations). At least when I'm on my own, I have things to do and think about. Also, in my rush to get home last night I forgot to pack up the power pack for the computer and my headphones, so I have my CD player with me, but can't listen to any CDs or listen to the radio on the train. Still, my trusty Palm came to my rescue this morning with The Wind-up Bird Chronicle which I've been meaning to start for ages, but haven't had time to get around to.
Last night, I had a play at being a speed demon as we went on a company outing to the go-karting track. I've never done it before, but I was soon whizzing around the track and overtaking people like nobodies business. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Afterwards, we wandered down the pub and had a chat and it was all very pleasant. I think I've got them half way talked into going riding next time!
