I feel oddly rushed at the minute. I had what should have been a very relaxing weekend, but somehow I feel like I haven't stopped. We did hardly anything on Saturday - helped briefly with the library moving and then went shopping. Afterwards, Alex came over and I cooked venison for us from my new cookbook I got for Christmas. Then we just sat around and did D&D stuff for a bit and then went to bed.

Sunday was our trip up to London (again), this time to surprise Alex's mum on her birthday by turning up to her birthday lunch along with Alex's sister (also called Jo) and her boyfriend. Alex's mum was extremely surprised and a very nice time (and a very nice lunch) was had by all. We got home at a reasonable hour and stuff and I sat around and watched TV for a while.

And yet I still feel ... well, rushed is the only way I can describe it. Not tired exactly, but just that I've got so much stuff to fit in. And I've forgotten to bring my soup in today so I'm going to have to skate extra fast to work off the sandwich I'll have to buy for lunch instead. Grrr.

So, ice skating today I noticed that the ice was much more lumpy today than it is normally. This means that you're much more likely to hit a funny patch and lose your balance. Which I did, just as I was on my way round to the exit to pick up my coat and head home as well! No harm done, nothing hurt but my pride and so on. Fortunately, the ice was fairly dry where I slipped so I didn't really get any wetter than I did walking home under the brolly which is a relief. Now I need a cup of tea.
