Wow, perhaps my bosses aren't so bad after all. I suddenly realised this morning that as well as my journey in being buggered on May Day, my journey home had every chance of being seriously delayed by protesters etc all over London and especially in Mayfair. I pointed this out to my boss in tones of vague despair and he agreed that I could take some static work home with me on a floppy for the day and work from home! If only May Day happened more often :)

Quite a busy weekend all told. Friday off to take Cassie in to be spayed. She had no problems apparently and seemed not to be too bothered by the whole thing which was good (although she doesn't like the cat basket now). While she was out, tidied and hovered everywhere - I'm so sad, I know but I found it very relaxing. And I tried out a new recipe for dinner which Alex and I both liked (although there did end up being rather too much sauce - next time I'll throw some out) and was very slimming :)

Saturday was role-playing as per usual. I'm getting into the swing of being a wizard now and starting to learn what'll be useful to me in combat and things like that. I've just acquired some more spell books from a wizard who died so there might be some juicy stuff in there too (although unfortunately, she was a conjurer so I won't be able to learn her best ones). Plus looking forward to my next level - more spells and my magic missiles become much more fun :) After role-playing it was off to the Sneaker Pimps gig at the Zodiac which was pretty good although I would have enjoyed it a lot more if the bass hadn't been up so loud that it made me vibrate and gave me a bit of a headache. Still, a good set.

Sunday morning it was back to the vets so that Cassie could have her stitches checked - no problems and the vet said that she was looking very healthy and well. We've been sternly told not to let her get any fatter than she is though and to try to move her to dried food which'll be interesting. Still, we'll see how she gets on. Alex came with, cos he's lovely and has agreed to take Cassie in for me next Sunday when she's having her stitches out as I won't be back from Mum and Dads in time. Then home and a bit of hugging (mmmm) before dispatching Alex to have his hair cut leaving me to mooch around lazily and fiddle with the website.

I hate giving blood. I really do. It makes me feel really nervous - and it doesn't help that the last time I gave they couldn't find a vein and I ended up with a massive bruise for a couple of weeks. So I wandered up today to do my duty and realised that I'd forgotten to bring my book so I had to just sit there in the queue and worry, and now here I am with an aching arm, an injunction not to drink alcohol and a slightly out-of-it feeling. But at least you get to eat guilt free biscuits afterwards :)
