Funny, I labour under exactly the same misconceptions, seasons-wise. From Jan 1st through until late February/March I wander around wondering why on earth it's getting colder and frostier, because it's spring now, isn't it?
As you say, it must be to do with early misguided education, since my ideas about the seasons are obviously not based in reality.
