Good lord. Twitter feeds for the three party leaders. Sadly, not (a) satire or (b) actual twittering from said politicians but (c) their official site RSS feeds converted into twitter posts.

You'd think their security people would oppose this. Even if it isn't 100% real-time, it does offer up dangerous patterns for their preferred routes.

That stuff is all already public domain on official sites though so I assume they'll have had the security dicussion and figured it safe enough.

I kind of don't really get Twitter. It just does this "foo is barring" thing, right? And the usual subscriptions/friends list thing? What's so amazing?

I am particularly confused since Facebook (to which i have become addicted) includes this functionality, and has masses more besides, so the buzz around Twitter seems even hypier than usual.

Yeah, I don't really get it either. I haven't looked at Facebook, although I have had a couple of people invite me onto it so I ought to really...

I think it's for all the people who take blogging too seriously and so want to have somewhere they can just blather but are too web 2.0 to use Facebook which is not considered very in-crowd, I think.
