Damn you! Yesterday's poll has produced no consensus. Now I have to dither some more!

Addendum: Grammar pedants (yes, Ian, I'm talking to you :) ); should it be yesterdays or yesterday's? Both look wrong somehow.

'Yesterday's', as it belongs to yesterday.

Who need Ian when you have the bestest boyfriend in the whole wide world, eh?

*laugh*

sorry!

It should be yesterday's, because the poll belongs to yesterday (yesterdays is the plural of yesterday). I must be right, I'm going to be an English teacher!!

Well, it looks like your grammar pedantry needs have been fulfilled.

Well, except for the *glaring* lack of a question mark, and probably a semi-colon (or possibly a colon), the lack of a capital letter and no quotation marks.

I am, quite frankly, shocked at the inability of your other correspondents to point out these trivial errors.

[identity profile] tinyjo.livejournal.com 2002-02-15 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Bother! I spotted the question mark yesterday but didn't do anything about it. Where should the semi-colon go?

So does this mean you are Ian and I claim my imaginary 5 GBP? I have been wondering who lurks behind the username (and the lack of posts haven't helped me figure it out!).

[identity profile] truecatachresis.livejournal.com 2002-02-15 10:27 am (UTC)(link)
I am indeed, there are posts (not many, probably not much help in determining identity) and you certainly can have an imaginary five pounds. Imaginary cash, or imaginary cheque?

[identity profile] truecatachresis.livejournal.com 2002-02-15 10:28 am (UTC)(link)
To replace the comma. As I said, I'm not entirely certain whether it ought to be a colon or a semi-colon; either would suffice where the comma does not.

Imaginary cash of course. Never accept anything other than used fivers. Not too used I hope.
