Wow. We have checked into an extremely swanky hotel in downtown Chicago and got a room on the top floor. The decor leaves something to be desired (faux-snakeskin chair! Mirrored bedside cabinet!) but the view is amazing and the location is awesome too. It's a beautiful evening out and we're going to hit the town for dinner and blues! More later :)

Ooh! You are here now. We never did work that all out, did we. ;-)

Nope :) It ended up being a very shopt stop - we're going to fly out to Vegas tomorrow evening because it ended up cheaper and we can do our Grand Canyon trip before we hit the house but if you want to meet up tomorrow to show us the sights of the city, I'm up for it!

Shoot, any day but today. :-( I'd have to bring Amie with and that would really limit what we could do, and plus I just can't take the day off today. I wish I could! If only I lived closer to the city. (I'm about a 45 minutes' drive away.)

If you're looking for local cuisine, I totally recommend Giordano's, if you're up for pizza -- Chicago deep-dish is my favorite food in the world and you can only get it here. I don't know where you're staying, but there's one at Rush & Superior on the near North Side. :-)

Michigan Avenue's a nice place to walk about, and all of the museums are great, too.
