So, it looks like I may have to make approximately monthly trips to London. I know there are semi-regular gatherings of folks I know in London, so when are they, guys? What should I aim for?

Uh ... well, the current fannish schedule is that there's a general pubmeet on the first Thursday of the month, somewhere near Holburn, and the BSFA author pub meetings on the fourth Wednesday of the month, somewhere near Knightsbridge. (These both have specific pub venues but I can't remember their names for the life of me.) Other than that stuff is ad-hoc. Another possibility for the next few months: proms.

My initial take on the Proms programme and what might be good to see - which some disagreed with on account of my not liking Shostakovich much - is here.

Would be good to see you!

The Melton Mowbray and the Star Tavern, respectively.

Cool! The fourth Wednesday would be next week, right? Cause that fits in nicely so I'll try to arrange that. What sort of time does that kick off (should I get off my lazy butt and google it?)

Yep, next Wednesday. Details are on this horrible webpage (check out the October guest). Interview kicks off at 7, but there are generally people about from 5.30 onwards. There's usually a meal afterwards, or you can get food at the pub. Unfortunately I won't be there, I'll be on a plane to Japan--which is a shame because although I've not read much by him, I think Keith Brooke might be quite interesting. (He also runs Infinity Plus).
