The first time I heard the expression "See you on the flipside" was in "The FlipSide of Dominik Hynde" (or whatever it's called - I think that may be wrong) and it has slipped into my vocabulary but I get the impression that it may have been out there before Dominik, inspiring the title rather than the show creating the phrase. So where does it come from?

I can't find anything online to confirm, but I suspect that it refers to records - the 'flip side' being what we'd call the 'B side'...

*you hear this in Apollo 13 when they are going around the dark side of the moon and are going to lose radio contact.
the origin of this phrase is probably from turning over a record.
