Emptied of expectation. Relax. ([personal profile] tinyjo) wrote2004-03-05 01:42 pm

Hmmm. I need to get more new media in my life I think. And so a poll...

[Poll #258366]

I can create syndicated accounts for any review sites that provide RSS feeds so if it hasn't been syndicated to LJ yet, I still want to know about it. I'm currently reading Light Ages (thanks [livejournal.com profile] coalescent), the last new film I saw was probably Spirited Away(!) and the last new album (in terms of release dates) I bought was False Smiles by Amy Studt.

And don't forget that if you want to buy books, just arrange to meet up with me in Blackwell's one day and I'll let you run loose with my dicount card! :)

I should point out that Natural History is very different to Light. Also that if you like The Light Ages, I have another novel (SF, this time) and short stories (mixed) by the same man.

And the review site question is tricky. To be honest, I mostly find reviews of books by going to google (or google news), although there are a few sites I visit regularly such as The Alien Online. The same is true for other media.

Why might I be expecting it to be like Light? I thought Light was pretty atypical as space opera goes.

Oh, no reason, really. It's just that everyone I recommend Light to seems to end up not liking it, so I wanted to be clear that this was different. :)

(now) old films

They aren't films that are out now (actually they are coming up for ten years old!) but you have seen the Three Colours Trilogy haven't you? And Richard Linklaker's Before Sunrise ^__^
