I feel all restrained - I got two parcels in the post this morning and I actually decided not to open them til tomorrow :)
Also, I promised to explain why I'm wearing my glasses this week (and indeed for the next couple of weeks). Well, I decided to take the plunge and have LASIK laser eye surgery, if they'll accept me for the procedure. I have a consultation appointment on 6th March when they'll poke, prod and shine lights in my eyes and decide whether I'm a suitable candidate or not. According to their website about 90% of people with my level of prescription come out of surgery with 20/20 vision, with the other 10% much improved - once they've had a look at my eyes, they'll be able to give me a better figure for my personal chances. If I'm suitable, they like to do the op ASAP so that they can use the measurements they've just made, so I could be under the laser in the next few days after that and have perfect vision by the middle of March. I may have to put up with my glasses for now, but there's a chance I might never have to again.

Cool Jo!
I don't mind giving up all my glasses really, but I don't particularly want to have massive visual degeneration by age 40 either... (or sooner, if all my monitor-viewing has any impact as it should)
Besides, with my caving, I think I need my darkness vision as much as possible, something I understand is lost/degraded by this procedure, yes?
Good luck! Enjoy lens-free vision!
