Emptied of expectation. Relax. ([personal profile] tinyjo) wrote2002-10-11 02:31 pm

I had been wondering whether I'd become incredibly unfit over a week without my bike. But now I realise - it's not me, it's the new bike. One of the brake blocks is touching the wheel all the time. It's actually a bugger to push like that as well - I can't believe I didn't notice it before - but it means that I'm having to put significantly more effort than normal in to achieve my normal sprightly pace. What a relief!

I was convinced walking up a mountain in Lake Louise was a herculean accomplishment but it turned out it was quite easy and it was just that I had had the flu.

No, it was a bastard.

Mind you, I was still suffering from the stomach bug, and I am massively unfit. But I blame the altitude.

Jo, what happened to your bike?

Damn!

I'm so peeved now that you lot all enjoyed Calgary, precisely *after* I had left. Damn damn damn!

Got nicked from where I park it outside work - opposite the magistrates court and everything! I came out to discover my helmet sitting folornly on the pavement where my bike had been :( Fortunatly, it was insured. (Moral of my 2 weeks - insurance is good)
