We cannot do without source-code control; that goes without saying... And the source-code control system sold by Microsoft is MSVSS; therefore, we can’t expect to use anything better.
Though to be honest I thought the VSS integration with the .Net development tools makes it a lot nicer than it was before—maybe my standards have been lowered by previous experience of SourceSafe to the extent that anything looks good!
It sucks at disconnected work though. Matt just checked back in the stuff he wrote on his laptop over the last 3 days and it wiped the references to half my stuff (and some other peoples stuff I think) out of the project file so Ricky had to spend 2 hours fiddling to get the whole thing working again! Still, it didn't delete any actual files so I forgive it :)
