When social groups collide

I'm always vaguely unnerved when this happens although I don't know why really. It turns out that one of Fiona's friends who I've never met, but read on her friends list ([livejournal.com profile] zotz) also reads [livejournal.com profile] jinty - see. As I say, there is no particular reason for me to be surprised by this but I am.

Oh, and thank you very much [livejournal.com profile] jinty for telling me that permanent accounts were available again - I've had to go and buy one now! So, who wants the rest of my paid time?

Graham's fab. *Amazing* taste in music.

Yeah, I've met Graham, and I'm sure I remember Jeremy (Cleanskies; and no, I have no idea how to make this a link...) passing out around the same table as him. Or maybe that was me.

He's a "known associate" of the Edinburgh Goth people - I'm not sure if you remember Jinty / Jenni's (argh, stupid HTML, me not understand...) and (at a different time) Lynn's ex housemate Myf?

The whole tale is herein... nothing sordid, just a roundabout of who knows who.

OK, now I'm actually slightly more unnerved! I hadn't realised that you/she actually knew this guy IRL - I thought it was just a strange LJ interests matchup or something. I don't remember the housemate person - I may well be too young.

If you want to do easy links to peoples LJs type <lj user="their username"> and the server will replace it with the link to their journals like this - [livejournal.com profile] jinty. So now you know :)

Well, Myf didn't come along to the pub (ie CBS) particularly, but she was a gofer at CAPTION one time. Evidence herewith.

That was a couple of Captions before I turned up - for lo, I am a babe.

indeed, and one in arms as well.

So, what about CAPTION2002? I see that the relevant Livejournal usernames are still free, if you/we wanna create a little community... (I tried Caption, Caption-apa, and Caption2002 and none of them were taken).

Curse your telepathic powers! After Andy also suggested this in the pub yesterday I am going to create a Caption community after lunch. I think it's best to call it caption - that way we can use it in later years easily. I'll post to my journal once I've done it.

The theme is going to be Noir. We've got an idea for a panel ("Who killed British small press comics") and a guest (an idea for one that is - and I can't now remember his name!). We have also booked the Union (17th/18th Aug I think - whatever the weekend around then is) and *will* be getting together on Thurs to get organized. Honest :)

Thank you! That's from the piccies from the party on Saturday: http://zoomusicgirl.com/moominsparty.htm I just made it B&W so it would match my LJ scheme, my hair's too red and clashes with the purple.

And the miricle of time-differences means that 'after lunch' means real soon now, though I am just getting up!

May I suggest an official lynching after the panel, once the guilty party has been identified?

>OK, now I'm actually slightly more unnerved!

That reminds me... isn't, err, [livejournal.com profile] diffrentcolours actually Ian and Ruth's housemate, the one whose ex turned out to be [livejournal.com profile] cleanskies's next door neighbour? Or something?

Mind you, I still think none of this compares with the moment when I was flipping casually through an issue of Bifrost in [livejournal.com profile] cleanskies's toilet and spotted in flagrante delicto with a snake (oh, so _that's_ what's up with her these days, etc...)

>and spotted in flagrante delicto with a snake

Originally there was a word between "spotted" and "in", carefully chosen so as to minimise the likelihood of it actually being useful in identifying the person concerned. LiveJournal's software appears, however, to have removed it. I feel I should respect this editorial decision.

Especially as I think it was a bug.

Yes - and I was very unnerved to find this out although I've got used to it now. I also had an odd experience when in Corpus bar waiting to be served, the two guys next to us (me and Alex) were talking about how to get their styles right and turned out to be LJers though I never got their usernames. It's like a virus you know :)
