Another one of those annoying the internet is costing business' money stories. It always bugs me that the assumption is that if you weren't doing Facebook or whatever you would automatically be working instead. I need my time outs sometimes.

'...employees "wasting time" on social networking' - that's us going to the coffee machine isn't it? The only difference between social networking and social networking sites is that you stretch your legs when you go to the coffee machine.

Before the internet, no one ever wrote articles about the productivity loss of water coolers or... um... paper-clip flinging... (what did people do for time-outs at work back then?)
